My Commitment to You
I promise to make the farewell to your loved one sensitive, memorable and the type of occasion he or she would have enjoyed with us. Overview While a traditional funeral is essentially a farewell, a civil celebrant conducted funeral is wonderfully flexible. We have opportunities to share memories and reaffirm feelings about this special person in a relaxed, less formal way. If we keep in mind what your loved one enjoyed in life, we can ensure a fitting farewell. Funerals and Memorials should celebrate life! |
It is my sincerest wish to assist family and friends focus on happy times, share funny stories and celebrate their wonderful legacy. Story telling can ease the pain of saying goodbye. Hearing touching, outrageous or amusing stories and reliving tales of days gone by, is so important for young and older family members and friends. Those memories have the ability to raise consciousness about the departed and make him or her seem real and alive again. In this way, they will never disappear from the lives of those who love them. What I always aim to do is have family and other attendees smile and nod their heads and make comments like, "I can imagine that!" Or, "I remember that so clearly!"
As a celebrant I am committed to sensitively researching information and assisting with the preparation of the eulogy. My role is to support family members, advise and guide. Should the reading of the eulogy be too painful for the nominated person on the day, I can easily step in to assist. On the funeral service day, I can present and speak as much, or as little, as the family wishes, help with the flow and mood of the occasion and be a sensitive support for all concerned. It is my hope the ceremony can focus only on good times and bring smiles to the faces of loved ones. I like to picture the dear, departed person as the guest sitting in the front row and being the one who best enjoys the ceremony. Together we can make that happen.

My modest Funeral Service and Memorial Service fee is $500 incl. GST. Those fees cover all preparation, meetings, communications, discussion, coordination with the funeral directors, total travel for our initial meeting(s) and to the cemetery or venue (max. 120kms return) plus presentation on the day of farewell. If total round trips travel adds up to more than 120kms, a travel fee charge may be applied at the current ATO recommended rate of $0.78/km.
